QLogic QLE3442-RJ 10GBASE-T adapters break through cost barriers and support the higher bandwidth needed for virtual environments while providing investment protection via backward compatibility with 1GbE networks. This paper describes the QLogic QLE3442-RJ 10GBASE-T networking solutions, their benefits, and why they open the door for broad deployment of 10Gbps Ethernet (10GbE).

In this paper we will examine S3 API in depth, covering key features, compatibility and what role it plays in object storage. This paper will also discuss the Cloudian HyperStore® extensions to the S3 API and useful applications that can be used.
The amount of data being stored is more than doubling every two years. IT departments eager to shrink data center footprints and consolidate servers and storage are preparing for a new generation of data servers. But while virtualized and cloud storage environments are expecting dramatic future growth, we have yet to widespread adoption across the board. Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), a low cost alternative for expanding legacy SANs with minimum investment, lets customers combine Ethernet data and fibre channel data traffic into a single high-speed network. While only 9 percent of users surveyed by have already adopted FCoE , that number is expected to grow to 26 percent in the next two years. And while cloud storage is expected to skyrocket over the next decade, security concerns and application compatibility are still an issue. This Storage CRN eZine, a part of our Thought Leadership Series, will discuss the state of the virtualized storage market, the current challenges facing integrators and vendors, and the steps necessary to take to meet an expected deluge of Big Data that will need to be stored and managed down the road.
Video conferencing has long been thought of as the technology for the other half, something to be used by the Fortune 500 companies and executives in corner offices, the ones handling mergers and acquisitions and the like—not something that the average business could afford or make use of. In the last few years, however, a series of technological advances have changed that notion, making video conferencing not only a viable technology for businesses of all sizes but a necessity.
This IDC white paper considers the approaching end of extended support for Windows Server 2003 and explores the Windows migration options that are available to customers and the benefits associated with a modernization effort. It also evaluates the risks that customers face if they do not move off of Windows Server 2003 prior to the conclusion of extended support.
While Windows 7 and Windows XP continue to dominate the market, Windows 8 adoption has been fairly slow, especially in the enterprise. The end of support for Windows XP now creates a season of needed change. Prepare now to address both the challenges and opportunities of this wave of OS migrations by downloading this IT handbook. Read it for insights into planning and preparation, hardware and software compatibility considerations, as well as end user training and implementation.
Many enterprises, educational institutions, and government agencies find themselves still managing both legacy end-user hardware and an antiquated OS. The time has come to move to modern Windows options and given the gamut of robust computing hardware, upgrading both at once simply makes good sense. Download this paper to discover how your organization can benefit from the combination of reduced staff costs, fewer operational problems, lower operational costs and improved productivity, the organization realizes significant cost savings.

This paper presents the results of a three-year total cost of ownership (TCO) study
comparing Dell EMC™ VxRail™ appliances and an equivalent do-it-yourself (DIY) solution of
standalone server hardware and software from the VMware vSAN ReadyNode™ (hardware
compatibility list) configurations. For both options, we modeled total hardware capital
expense, total software capital expense and operational expense for small, medium and
large clusters over a three-year period.
For the past several years, the nature of enterprise productivity has been forever changed by the new breed of
mobile devices. Personal smartphones and tablets are everywhere. Gone are the days when every enterprise gave
its employees a security-focused BlackBerry. Cloud-based productivity apps can be downloaded in seconds.

This white paper shows how integrated security suites can help organizations achieve high security and compliance with internal and external mandates, while also providing lower out-of-pocket costs, simplified management, and no compatibility issues.
If your company operates in the cloud, you’ve probably thought about investing in a Cloud Management Platform (CMP) — a group of integrated products that manage public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. That combination is what AHEAD calls an Enterprise Cloud. For an enterprise with a heavy private cloud emphasis, the right CMP can transform your VM provisioning, reducing a potentially weeks-long manual process to an automated one that finishes in a matter of minutes. And if you run one or more public clouds, the right CMP can help you take better control of your cloud services, manage your cloud spending, and architect your app platforms to run seamlessly in the cloud.
So Which CMP Will Work Best For You?
The first thing to consider is compatibility with your existing environment. For many enterprises, that’s going to put a premium on CMPs that integrate natively with VMware. For other businesses, compatibility with ServiceNow or support for multiple private and public clouds wi
Performance testing and benchmarking of cloud computing platforms is a complex task, compounded by the differences between providers and the use cases of cloud computing users. IaaS services are utilized by a large variety of industries and, performance metrics cannot be understood by simply representing cloud performance with a single value. When selecting a cloud computing provider, IT professionals consider many factors: compatibility, performance, cost, security and more. Performance is a key factor that drives many others including cost. In many cases, 3 primary bottlenecks affect server performance: central processing unit (CPU) performance, disk performance, and internal network performance.
Efficient desktop application management is essential in normal day-to-day operations of any company. Whether you are introducing a new application or implementing an OS migration, the goal is the same: minimize disruptions and ensure user productivity throughout the process.
The Microsoft Assessment and Planning Solution Accelerator (MAP) tool makes it easy for you to assess your current IT infrastructure and determine the right Microsoft technologies for your needs. The data and analysis provided by this tool can help simplify planning a Windows Vista migration.
Windows Vista® offers a new way to deliver manageable IT services that are planned for security service-level agreements (SLAs), while helping to lower the cost of ownership, management, and deployment.
Today's IT executives are not only expected to create and maintain high-availability IT environments, but they are also expected to implement green initiatives to satisfy customers, analysts, and government agencies that are worried about the impact of modern, energy-thirsty data centers on the environment. Is such a dual mandate reasonable? Can companies be expected to maintain service levels and reduce their carbon footprints at the same time? The White Paper offers a description of the different types of services available to improved energy efficiency data center design and a prescription for successful implementation.
